WHAT IS THE RULE OF 5 GIFTS?

Don't you know the 5 gifts rule? Here's the gist ... Instead of spending tons of money on a bunch of different gifts, limit it to just 5 simple things: 1 gift they want, 1 gift they need, 1 gift they read, and 1 gift they don't know they want, but you do it! Some people even limit it to the 4 gifts rule and stick to the first 4 on the list, it's totally up to you.

I come from a family with 3 siblings and growing up I was spoiled with many toys and gifts on Christmas morning. Although we obviously loved gifts when we were young, the older we received, the fewer toys we received. I knew there were fewer Gift Baskets Australia under the tree as we grew older because the ones we received were more expensive, but even though I understood, I still remember the disappointment. I feel like if my parents had implemented the 5 gift rule from the beginning, there would have been no disappointment. We would have known what to expect and we would have learned to appreciate it that much more.

WHY SHOULD YOU TRY THIS?

TO TEACH THANK YOU AND REMEMBER THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS.

Many times children get wrapped up in gifts, in their minds (even though they know the true meaning of Christmas) it's all about Santa for them, it's about those gifts under the tree. The 5 gift rule is there to remind you that Christmas is about more than just the gifts. It teaches them to be grateful for the gifts they receive, rather than just waiting for tons of gifts that they will likely forget about next year. Does anyone else feel the same ?!

IT CAN HELP YOU NOT GET YOUR COVER LIKE THE MAGIC SANTA CLAUS.

Tell them that a gift, whether it is the gift they really want or the Gift Baskets Australia they didn't know they wanted, is from Santa. And then be honest about the rest of the gifts, tell them they are from you (this also helps with appreciation). Now that they know that most of their gifts come from you, they won't be so surprised that they finally find out that Santa isn't real.

YOU WILL SAVE MONEY TO SPEND ON THINGS THAT THEY WILL REMEMBER.

I am a big believer in the saying "spend money on experience, not things", I would rather spend that money on a family vacation because those memories will last longer than a toy that will be forgotten and kept in a closet. . Instead of spending all your "fun money" on toys this holiday season, spend it on an adventure! One of your gifts might even be the promise of an exciting family vacation this summer.

Have you tried the 5-gift rule (or the 4-gift rule)? Or do you have other holiday gift traditions that you think more parents should know about? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear them! I am always looking for new ideas.
